Our Approach

Here at Peace Tree, we are inspired by the Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies. We believe each child has an intuitive desire for discovery and independence. We strive to create a peaceful, supportive, and safe environment to help foster a passion for wonder, exploration, and self-awareness.

We want to value each individual child as someone who already has so much to give. Children are not merely empty vessels that a teacher needs to fill with knowledge.

The teachers here at Peace Tree are meant to guide, observe, and prepare the environment in a way that invites discovery and learning. We hire and train our staff to help create a community of love, autonomy, and respect. Children can explore and move at their own pace in their own way.  Our greatest tool is to observe and follow the lead of the child.

What Parents Think

Like most 1st time Moms, you are hesitant on the mere thought of sending your baby to daycare. This was me 100%. All the what ifs ran through my head. I can’t imagine a stranger caring for my child like I would. We met with several local daycares, and we just did not get that feeling of familiarity or comfort. That was until we met Lydia at Peace Tree. Lydia had an instant (genuine) warmth to her. She was very welcoming and transparent with any questions or concerns we had. That is why we chose to put our trust in Peace Tree. I am beyond thankful to say that we have not questioned our decision since, nor have we been disappointed in the care that has been given to our baby. Lydia is caring, encouraging, empathetic, and genuine. It is very clear that she is passionate about what she does and about the kiddos she cares for.
